The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has fined Espérance Sportive de Tunis (ES Tunis) $15,000 (Sh41.25 million) for a breach of regulations during their Champions League match against Stade Malien of Mali, held in Tunis on November 22, 2025.
The decision was based on a safety report submitted by Dixon Okello (Uganda), which confirmed that ES Tunis fans used fireworks inside the stadium, which violated CAF regulations. The club is required to pay the fine within the stipulated time to avoid further disciplinary action.
ES Tunis is preparing to play its third round match of the Champions League against Simba of Tanzania, which will be played tomorrow, Saturday, January 24, at the Olympic De Rades Stadium, starting at 1:00 pm Tanzania time.
This match is crucial in Group D, with ES Tunis needing to pay attention to fan discipline as well as perform well on the field against Simba.
