However, some stakeholders who witnessed the preparations and success of the tournament in Morocco last month and this month, say that the East African countries have a lot of work to do to meet the expectations of players and fans of the tournament at the right level.
Despite not winning the AFCON Cup when they faced Senegal in the final match, Morocco showed that they invested properly in the preparations for the tournament as hosts.
Various fans and leaders in the football world have highly praised the standards of the tournament that lasted a month in various cities in the country.
The President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Patrice Motsepe, explained that everything from infrastructure to stadiums was of a high standard that has not been seen in Africa.
It is on this basis that a journalist from Ivory Coast named Mamadou Gaye has raised a big debate when he explained that the East African countries namely Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda are not capable of hosting the tournament compared to Morocco.
The journalist has informed that Morocco has completely raised the standards of preparation for the tournament and the three countries cannot meet the expectations of players and fans as they have witnessed in Morocco.
Gaye has given the example that the three countries do not have good roads that connect the infrastructure from one country to another and also that the stadiums and facilities such as hotels are not of the appropriate standards.
