MALI DECIDE TO APPEAL CAF

Mali have decided to appeal Amadou Haidara’s red card shown in the 88th minute of their final group game against Comoros.

Source indicate that Chadian referee Aliou Mahamat admitted the decision was a major error and apologised during a technical meeting with the referees’ committee.

It remains to be seen whether the red card will be overturned, which would make Haidara available for Mali’s round of 16 clash against Tunisia on January 3.
